FAQs

What is remapping ?

Since the 90’s most vehicle manufactures have used an electronic ECU (Engine Control Unit) to control engine parameters such as fuelling, ignition timing and turbo pressure. Remapping – also known as chipping – is an adjustment to the factory software on a vehicles ECU to enhance performance and/or economy. Our solutions can be tailored to your requirements, so please get in touch for further information.

What are the benefits ?

Whether you’re looking for increased power or economy, or looking to permanently resolve EGR/DPF issues, Rhino Auto can deliver! Get in touch with your vehicle registration to see how we can help.

Can it damage my car ?

While increasing power can put additional strain on some engine and transmission components, all of our remaps are developed to work with the factory equipment of your vehicle and to be well within it’s capabilities. Before remapping your vehicle will undergo a full diagnostics and visual check to make sure everything is in order, and we always recommend servicing is kept up to date to help mitigate any risk.

What about my insurance ?

Although a remap is hard for any insurance company to detect, we always recommend informing your insurance company as any undeclared modifications can invalidate your insurance policy. With most insurance companies you will see little to no increase in your premium.

Why should I have it done ?

A remap is a great way to unleash the hidden potential in your vehicle whilst saving money on fuel. With a wide range of services tailored to your needs drop us a message to see what we can do for you!
